Title: Workday Program Manager
Location: Hybrid
Duration: 12 Month Contract


Job Description:
  1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
  2. Provide executive-level leadership for the institution’s Workday program across Finance, HCM, Payroll, and Student modules.
  3. Utilize governance frameworks, decision-making protocols, and escalation pathways.
  4. Serve as the primary liaison with executive sponsors, institutional leadership, and stakeholders.
  5. Program Coordination & Oversight
  6. Direct and coordinate the activities of module-specific Program Managers to ensure project alignment, resource optimization, and schedule adherence.
  7. Monitor interdependencies between modules to mitigate risks and resolve conflicts.
  8. Ensure program milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  10. Develop and maintain transparent communication channels with institutional leadership, faculty, staff, and students as applicable.
  11. Prepare and deliver program status reports, executive dashboards, and presentations to governance committees.
  12. Risk, Compliance & Quality Management
  13. Identify, assess, and mitigate program-level risks and issues.
  14. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation requirements, and relevant regulations.
  15. Promote best practices for data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  16. Change Management & Adoption
  17. Lead organizational change management strategies to ensure effective adoption of Workday solutions.
  18. Partner with HR, Finance, Academic and Student Affairs, and IT leadership to align process transformation with institutional goals.
  19. Continuous Improvement & Optimization
  20. Drive continuous improvement of Workday processes post-implementation.
  21. Oversee system upgrades, enhancements, and roadmap planning.

Oversee:
  • Comprehensive Program Plan with timelines, deliverables, milestones, and interdependencies.
  • Governance and Communication Framework including stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Monthly Status Reports highlighting progress, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Executive Dashboards and quarterly presentations for senior leadership.
  • Transition & Sustainability Plan to ensure long-term ownership and optimization of Workday.

Required Skills
Candidates submitted by respondents must have the following skills:

 
  • Ten (10) years of program management experience with five (5) years in higher education or a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership in enterprise-scale Workday implementations including Finance, HCM, and Payroll.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple program managers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of higher education business processes, compliance standards, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrated leadership in enterprise-scale Workday Student implementation
The projected hourly range for this position is $110 to $120.
