Job Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for building, reporting and executing a testing strategy within the retail technology and DevOps stack. Testing considerations include functionality, security, performance, compatibility and usability.  The Quality Analyst needs to be a strong communicator and work beside multiple external vendors and within the company’s internal team. The Quality Analyst works closely with the Retail Technology Team and other internal cross functional team members.

Principal Accountabilities

Testing and Reporting – 60%

  • Works autonomously and with minimal supervision, yet collaboratively within DevOps and Retail Technology teams
  • Develop test strategy plans, scenarios and cases
  • Ensure product teams provide clear documentation that outline feature enhancement, release components and other change elements
  • Create reports that communicate test status and report findings
  • Make recommendations and consider opportunities to enhance QA processes
  • Demonstrates good judgement in implementing methods and time management
  • Utilize SQL database and SSRS to perform data analysis
  • Work with product and project managers cross-functionally to establish and continuously refine plans and test cases 

Communication – 30%

  • Communicate test strategies and activities to appropriate team members across the organization on a bi-weekly basis
  • Communicate and work directly with third party vendors to test new releases within the POS and mobile technology stack
  • Contribute during vendor management conference calls that serve to organize development activities by escalating identified or anticipated QA concerns, or program aspects that require clarification 
  • Work with DevOps to build quality power platform apps
  • Utilize multiple communication channels including Microsoft products, JIRA, Asana, Teams, etc.

Release Management – 10%

  • Partner with internal team and vendors to assess the severity of and identify solutions for bugs/defects 
  • Make determinations as to whether a release meets UAT acceptance criteria 
  • Review release management notes and provide feedback regarding any opportunities for clarification relative to new or modified user features

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree in IS, IT or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a Technology Department, collaboratively working with business partners, technical teams and vendors
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD for Power Apps)
  • Comprehensive understanding of testing concepts, tools, and methodologies, including integration, system, regression, compatibility and GUI / performance testing 
  • Experienced in taking requirements and turning them into test cases and reporting bugs/issues across an internal team and vendor team environment
  • Experience with retail technology desired
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Software Development Life Cycle experience 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Must be able to learn new software quickly

The projected hourly range for this position is $56 to $64.
