Job Title: Java Developer 
Job Type: Contract

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with experience in the insurance industry to support ongoing and upcoming work within the P&C Services team. The ideal candidate will independently implement service changes within the complex SmartCert system, demonstrate strong self-direction, and quickly learn the P&C Services domain and workflow. This role does not require direct interaction with business users and will operate primarily within a technical and system-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Independently implement service changes and enhancements to the SmartCert system.
  • Learn and understand P&C Services workflows, processes, and system interactions to support development tasks.
  • Collaborate with P&C Services team members on solution design and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Produce high quality technical work in a fast paced, siloed environment with minimal oversight.
Qualifications
Required Skills – 3+ years of experience in with the following:
  • Expert level Spring Boot knowledge.
  • Understanding of insurance terminology, specifically P&C coverages.
  • Strong experience with JSON, REST, and SQL Server.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Knowledge of form construction.
  • Familiarity with IBM/FWA workflow.
  • Understanding of Certificates / ACORD forms.
  • Experience with OutSystems and/or ServiceNow. Business / Domain Knowledge
  • Insurance domain experience, especially P&C concepts (as listed above).

The projected hourly range for this position is $75 to $95.
