Overview
Lead the direction of our data science work and build it yourself. We want someone who has done this before, including building and supporting one or more recommendation engines in production. You will set the modeling roadmap, ship your own models for near-real-time predictions, and define the standards for rigorous, decision-driving data science.
Responsibilities:
• Define and drive the data science roadmap around audience, subscription, content, and personalization outcomes.
• Build, ship, and support recommendation and personalization engines end to end.
• Deploy your own models into production for near-real-time predictions, and own their monitoring, retraining, and performance.
• Run experiments and deliver analyses that inform real product and business decisions.
• Establish standards and best practices for experimentation, model evaluation, reproducibility, and ML deployment.
• Work in Snowflake and Domo, and partner with Data and Cloud Engineering on data access and serving infrastructure.
• Translate findings into clear recommendations for Product, editorial, and business stakeholders.
Requirements:
• Extensive hands-on experience as a data scientist who has done this before, including building and supporting one or more recommendation engines in production.
• Strong applied statistics, experimentation, and predictive/ML modeling skills.
• MLOps experience deploying, serving, and monitoring your own models for near-real-time inference is a strong plus.
• Strong SQL skills and fluency with modern analytics tooling; comfortable working in Snowflake and BI tools such as Domo.
• A track record of setting analytical direction while remaining a strong hands-on contributor, and communicating findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
The projected hourly range for this position is $75 to $100.
