Job Title: Tech Product Owner – Supply Chain
Job Type: Contract
Job Location: Remote

Overview

Own the product direction for the supply chain domains in partnership with the business. You set priorities with business leaders, translate their needs into clear requirements and solution options, and work with the functional teams to deliver. This is a business-facing product role — built on partnership, prioritization, and delivery, with enough technology fluency to shape solution options rather than relay requirements.

The role is defined by understanding the supply chain business well enough to identify problems and opportunities proactively, rather than processing incoming requests. You will help establish a business-aligned product model as the function scales, shaping how product management operates here rather than just administering an existing backlog.

What You'll Own

• Priorities and roadmap. Own the backlog, priorities, and roadmap for the supply chain domains.
• Prioritization with the business. Partner with business process owners and VP-level leaders across supply chain, logistics, and distribution to set and sequence priorities, bringing the technology perspective and cross-initiative view the business partners don't have, and managing intake so the highest-value work is delivered first.
• Requirements. Author the requirements that hand off to the functional leads — a full business requirements document where the change warrants it, or a lighter brief scaled to smaller work. Frame needs as solution options with the trade-offs made clear, then partner with functional leads to refine the design.
• Early engagement between business and functional leads. Once scope is set, bring functional leads into the business conversation directly rather than relaying on their behalf. Functional leads and business SMEs develop the functional design together; you connect them, keep the requirement and the build aligned, and hold scope as the discussion evolves.
• Representation through solutioning and delivery. Stay engaged after prioritization: represent the business through solutioning and development as engineering and the PMO run delivery, and resolve scope and priority questions as the work is built so business partners and SMEs need not attend every session. Manage scope and route genuine additions to a follow-on process.
• UAT stewardship. Steward user acceptance testing — coordinate it with engineering, direct the business to the scenarios that matter most, and drive sign-off.
• Discovery, roadmaps, and measures. Produce discovery documents, roadmaps, and plans, and define how success is measured so the value of the work is visible to the business and to leadership.
• Point of contact. Serve as the point of alignment between supply chain leadership and the delivery teams, keeping priorities, requirements, and delivery in sync without becoming the sole channel between them.

Key Deliverables

• Product Roadmap
• Prioritized Backlog
• Business Requirements (BRD or brief)
• Success Metrics & Outcome Reporting

What We're Looking For

• Trust with senior leaders. A track record of working with and earning the trust of VP-level business leaders.
• Business-facing product experience. Proven product owner or product manager experience in a business-facing role.
• Domain depth. Deep domain experience in supply chain operations; transportation management and distribution / distribution-center operations experience a plus.
• Requirements and trade-off communication. Skilled at turning business needs into prioritized requirements and communicating options and trade-offs clearly.
• Enterprise-platform fluency at the process level. SAP or a comparable enterprise platform (Oracle or similar) preferred — as a user, super-user, or delivery partner. You should be able to follow a business process end to end and understand terms such as purchase requisition, goods movement, or stock transport order. Deep configuration expertise is not required; credibility with functional leads and the ability to come up to speed quickly matter more.
• A collaborative operator. Someone who engages the right people early rather than developing solutions in isolation; the role depends on trust with both business partners and functional leads.
• Comfortable in a complex operating environment. Multi-channel, multi-distribution-center business with both domestic and import/export supply, MRP-driven planning, and tariff considerations; broad exposure across these matters more than checking every box.

The projected hourly range for this position is $63 to $73.
