Title: Senior Oracle EBS Applications DBA
Location: Hybrid
Duration: 6 Month Contract 

Job Description:

The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, performance, security, and availability of Oracle technology platforms, including Oracle Databases, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS 12.2.14). This role provides hands-on support for mission-critical production systems, ensuring reliable operation through proactive monitoring, routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. The position works closely with business and technical teams to support enterprise applications, implement new technologies, and maintain highly available Oracle environments that support global business operations. This role also participates in a 24×7 on-call rotation supporting global infrastructure.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / RESULTS
Oracle Database Administration
  • Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle database environments.
  • Perform database performance analysis, tuning, capacity planning, and health checks.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Execute database patching, upgrades, migrations, and version maintenance activities.
  • Monitor database availability and performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents.
  • Maintain database security, user access controls, and compliance with organizational standards.
Oracle E-Business Suite Administration
  • Administer Oracle E-Business Suite Production, Test, Development, and Disaster Recovery environments.
  • Perform Oracle EBS startup, shutdown, cloning, configuration, and routine administration activities.
  • Monitor application services, concurrent processing, workflow components, and supporting technology stack components.
  • Execute Oracle EBS patching activities, including AD/TXK updates, technology stack updates, CPU patches, and online patching cycles (ADOP).
  • Support Oracle EBS upgrades, environment refreshes, and migration activities.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to implement new Oracle modules, enhancements, and third-party applications integrated with Oracle EBS.
  • Troubleshoot application performance issues and coordinate resolution with Oracle Support and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain EBS administration procedures and system documentation.
Oracle Exadata Administration
  • Administer and support Oracle Exadata infrastructure supporting mission-critical business systems.
  • Perform routine health checks of Exadata systems, including compute nodes, storage cells, ASM, RAC, Clusterware, and operating systems.
  • Execute quarterly Oracle Exadata patching activities, including database, Grid Infrastructure, operating system, firmware, and storage server updates.
  • Monitor Exadata performance, storage utilization, and system health.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate with Oracle Support when required.
  • Maintain Exadata operational standards, documentation, and maintenance procedures.
Operations & Support
  • Perform proactive monitoring and maintenance to ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance activities, application releases, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests and provide timely resolution of production issues.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity activities.
  • Support implementation projects involving Oracle databases, Oracle EBS, Exadata, and related technologies.
  • Maintain documentation for supported systems, processes, procedures, and configurations.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine administration tasks.
  • Recommend improvements to monitoring, alerting, patching, and operational processes.
  • Evaluate new Oracle technologies, tools, and features to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Support cloud-hosted Oracle workloads in Azure and Oracle Cloud environments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience administering Oracle databases in a production environment.
  • 5+ years of Oracle E-Business Suite Applications DBA experience.
  • 5+ years of experience performing Oracle database backup/recovery, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Oracle Exadata environments.
  • Experience performing Oracle EBS cloning, patching, online patching (ADOP), and application administration.
  • Experience implementing Oracle modules, third-party software, and integration solutions.
  • Experience supporting Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN environments.
  • Experience supporting Oracle environments on Red Hat Linux.
  • Experience supporting Oracle databases in Azure and/or OCI environments preferred.
 

Knowledge / Technical Requirements
  • Knowledge of Oracle Database 19c and newer releases.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 administration.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Applications DBA administration, WebLogic, Concurrent Manager, Workflow, Forms, Reports, and online patching.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Exadata architecture, administration, monitoring, and patching.
  • Knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Clusterware, Data Guard, and RMAN.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control.
  • Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting and automation.
  • Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate preferred.
  • Knowledge of OCI and Azure-hosted Oracle environments preferred.

The projected hourly range for this position is $70 to $75.
