Overview
The Finance Solution Architect designs and drives end-to-end technology solutions that enable healthcare financial operations spanning claims and premium revenue, AP/AR, subledger/journal processing, reconciliation, and GL integration within an ERP platform. This role bridges finance domain knowledge with solution and application architecture, ensuring systems are scalable, auditable, and aligned to regulatory and reporting needs.
Responsibilities:
• Define target-state architecture for finance capabilities across source systems, data platforms, subledger, and ERP general ledger
• Create solution blueprints, integration patterns, and roadmaps aligned to finance and business strategy
• Ensure design supports healthcare payer/provider financial nuances, including claims, capitation, stop-loss/reinsurance, risk adjustment, and premium billing
• Design posting architecture into ERP general ledger, including dimensional strategy
• Architect subledger processing to convert business events into balanced journal entries
• Establish guardrails for period close, backposting rules, accrual handling, and journal governance
• Partner with data teams to define curated finance data models across revenue, claims, membership, payments, adjustments, and accruals
• Design reconciliation frameworks across source systems, finance data layers, subledger outputs, and general ledger
• Implement controls, exception handling, and variance workflows to support audit readiness
• Define enterprise-grade integration patterns for high-volume healthcare financial feeds
• Ensure resiliency through idempotency, replay safety, retries, dead-letter routing, control totals, completeness checks, monitoring, and operational dashboards
• Manage interface contracts, data mapping, and versioning across dependent systems
• Design and support user-facing finance applications such as reconciliation workbenches, exception workflows, adjustment tooling, and self-service portals
• Define API and service-layer patterns that decouple user workflows from storage and ERP dependencies
• Ensure designs meet audit, security, compliance, and governance standards
• Define access control patterns, audit trails, lineage, and evidence artifacts for finance operations
• Partner with finance, IT, and vendor teams to align requirements and prioritize delivery
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and produce executive-ready materials
Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in solution architecture or equivalent, with significant focus on finance systems
• Strong understanding of finance processes including GL, AP, AR, close, accruals, reconciliation, and auditability
• Experience integrating with an ERP, preferably Workday Financials
• Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end integrations across multiple source systems and domains
• Strong data architecture skills, including financial data modeling, curated layers, lineage, and quality
• Experience designing controls for accuracy, including control totals, reconciliation, idempotent posting, exception handling, and period governance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Healthcare payer/provider domain experience, including claims, premiums, PBM/pharmacy, capitation, risk adjustment, and stop-loss
• Workday-specific experience, including Accounting Center, Prism, Worktags, and Workday integration patterns
• Experience with modern cloud patterns such as Azure or AWS, event streaming, and API management
• Experience with data platforms, analytics tools, and metadata or catalog tooling
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting needs in healthcare
Key Skills:
• Finance fluency and ability to translate finance needs into architecture decisions
• System thinking across applications, data, integration, and controls
• Auditability by design, including traceability, evidence, and approvals
• Reconciliation-first mindset
• Ability to design user workflows and APIs, not just pipelines
Example Deliverables:
• End-to-end architecture diagrams and integration blueprints
• Journal rule patterns and mapping approaches
• Reconciliation control frameworks and dashboards
• Data models for curated finance domains
• Cutover and migration plans, including parallel run strategy
• Security models and audit evidence approaches
