Overview

Seeking a Systems Engineer with strong technical troubleshooting, implementation, communication, and customer-service skills. This person will support clients as part of a high-touch service delivery team and will help design, implement, manage, and support client networks, systems, cloud environments, and critical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded MSP engineer with strong experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, servers, virtualization, networking, firewalls, security, backup, and systems management. This is not intended to be a narrow network-only or server-only role. The Systems Engineer is expected to handle escalations, contribute to projects, support implementation work, mentor lower-tier resources, and communicate professionally with non-technical clients.

The Systems Engineer is also expected to use AI-driven tools, including Thread and internal AI platforms, to improve documentation, streamline troubleshooting, identify automation opportunities, and improve overall service delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Support clients as part of a high-touch managed services team
• Design, implement, manage, and service client networks and critical systems
• Support client environments with a cloud-first mindset
• Resolve escalated issues from Tier II support
• Provide technical mentorship to other team members
• Support project, implementation, and design work
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across systems, networks, cloud platforms, and security tools
• Support and administer Microsoft Azure environments
• Support Hyper-V and server virtualization environments
• Support Microsoft 365, Office 365, Intune, Conditional Access, and compliance policies
• Support Microsoft Server environments, including Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and later versions where applicable
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, identity, and security configurations
• Support TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VPN, firewall, and connectivity issues
• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Support Cisco ASA, Meraki firewalls, VPNs, and security solutions
• Use systems management and monitoring tools
• Use AI-based productivity and engineering tools, including Thread, to assist with ticket review, documentation, troubleshooting, scripting support, diagnostics, standard operating procedures, research, and technical process documentation
• Write, organize, and maintain clear documentation
• Follow company policies, procedures, and service protocols
• Maintain strong client service and professional communication

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of paid experience in a Systems Engineer, MSP Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Escalation Engineer, or similar role
• Strong Microsoft 365 / Office 365 experience
• Strong Azure or cloud infrastructure experience
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity/security administration
• Experience with virtualization, preferably Hyper-V
• Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools
• Ability to resolve escalated support issues
• Ability to contribute to projects and implementation work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical clients
• Strong documentation skills
• Resourceful, responsive, and detail-oriented
• Excellent customer-service mindset and “can do” attitude
• Team player with a positive, professional approach
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
• Comfortable adopting and using AI-powered tools as part of daily workflow

Preferred Qualifications:
• MSP experience
• ConnectWise experience
• Datto experience
• Cisco, Meraki, VMware, Dell, Microsoft, or related certifications
• Azure, AWS, or broader cloud platform experience
• Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, and compliance policy experience
• Security-focused infrastructure experience
• Experience in project implementation, professional services, or client infrastructure upgrades
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience


The projected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000.
