About the Role
We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Data Scientist (2–3 years of experience) to join a collaborative, fast-paced data team focused on delivering measurable business impact through machine learning.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on and improving existing models rather than building from scratch. You will play a key role in monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing production models, contributing to continuous improvements in performance and business outcomes.
The team operates in an agile, CI/CD environment with bi-weekly releases, so a mindset of incremental delivery and continuous improvement is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance, tune, and retrain existing machine learning models in production
- Monitor model performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Partner with data engineers and analysts to support data pipelines and model deployment
- Build and maintain datasets using SQL and Python
- Work within Jupyter Notebooks in a cloud-based environment
- Contribute to model lifecycle processes, including testing, validation, and deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Communicate insights and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience working in Jupyter Notebooks (preferably in a cloud environment)
- Hands-on experience with models that have been deployed to production
- Understanding of:
- Model monitoring and performance tracking
- Differences between development and production environments
- Data pipelines and workflows
- Experience working on existing models (tuning, retraining, improving)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently within a team structure
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake
- Exposure to personalization or recommendation systems
- Experience with customer lifecycle modeling (e.g., churn, propensity, CLV)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile development environments
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including data engineering and business stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- A hands-on, adaptable “jack-of-all-trades” mindset
- Someone who takes ownership and follows through on deliverables
- A team player who is willing to wear multiple hats and contribute where needed
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with frequent releases
- A practical, results-oriented approach (vs. purely academic or research-focused)
Work Environment
- Agile team operating in 2-week sprints
- Collaborative, team-oriented culture with strong cross-functional interaction
The projected hourly range for this position is $70.00- $80.00
